FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS - Website Templates
1. What do I receive when I buy a template?
Our templates can be bought either with End User License or
with Full License. The price on our site is for End User License.
If you are interested in the price for Full License, please
contact us. Please
read further to find out the differences between these 2
licenses.
The .zip file contains HTML files, CSS file, detailed User Guide
and Licensing. In order to open the .zip archive you
need uncompressing software, such as
WinZip
(for Windows users) or
StuffIt Expander (for MAC users).
2. In which format are your templates available?
FCA Software templates are available mainly in HTML format.
They can be processed with Macromedia Dreamweaver 8,
KTML-Kit, Visual Web Developer or any other text editor
you like.
3. What am I allowed and not allowed to do with the
templates?
This depends on what kind of license you have bought.
Buying an End User License, you may:
-
build ONLY one website using the template - you introduce
your content (text and photos) - and you can change
the name of the links;
-
add as many links and pages as needed, using ONLY the
template design. You can do it by copying the existing
files into new ones and adding your content (text and
photos). See your User Guide for more details.
Buying an End User License,
you may not:
-
modify the template design;
-
use the template for more than one website.
If you want to use the same website template
for another site, you have to buy one more
end user license for that website template;
-
remove the link to FCA Software and the text "Designed
by FCA Software";
- resell FCA Software template;
-
claim intellectual or exclusive ownership to any
of our website templates.
Buying a Full License, you may:
-
build as many websites as you want using the template;
-
add as many links and pages as needed;
-
change the template design as you want;
-
resell the template.
Buying a Full License,
you may not:
-
keep the link to FCA Software and the text "Designed by
FCA Software";
-
claim intellectual or exclusive ownership to any
of the websites based on the template licensed prior
to the date you have bought the Full License.
4. Is it possible to use FCA Software templates to
develop websites for my customers?
Yes. You have to choose what suits you better:
end user license or full license. Please have in mind
that if you buy the website template with end user license
you may use it ONLY for one website. For any
additional site based on that template, you need to buy
the corresponding end user template license. On the other
hand, a full license gives you the right to create as many
sites as you want with that template. More, if you have
bought the full license for a template, that template will
be removed from our store and you become the owner of the
template.
5. What is the difference between end user license
and full license?
End User License means:
-
that other people can buy some time later the template
you have bought;
-
that you may use the template for ONLY one website;
-
that you may not change the template design; you
can introduce your content and change the names
of the links;
-
that you may not remove the link to FCA Software
site and the text "Designed by FCA Software".
Full License means:
-
that you are the last person / company that buys
the template. Only you and the persons / companies
who bought the template before you will own it;

that you may modify the template any way you want;
-
that you may use the template for as many websites you
want;
-
that you MUST remove the link to FCA Software site
and the text "Designed by FCA Software" from the
template pages.
6. Can I put low resolution thumbnails of FCA Software
templates on my website?
Yes, of course. But please don't forget the difference
between end user and full license for FCA Software
templates.
7. I would like to purchase a template, but it is not
available on your website anymore.
The template has been sold with full license. Please look
for similar templates in our collection.
8. How can I introduce my content in the template?
Please read the User Guide for detailed instructions. It
is included in the .zip archive you receive from us. You
can also use our Design Department to do this work for you.
Just contact us.
9. What advantage do I have if I introduce my own photos in
the website template?
You particularize the FCA Software template introducing your
text and photos. You can use the sample photos but, this means
that the only difference between your website and the other
Websites done with the same FCA Software template consists ONLY
in your text. Your presence on the Internet must be special. We
offer you quality templates and you have to add a plus through
your text and photos. The photos represent you / your
company. You are the only one who knows the particularities of
your activity / products and the photos must reflect this.
10. I have only a few products. Do I need to use a Database?
This depends on what you want to achieve with your website.
If you want an e-commerce solution, the answer is YES, you need
a database. Our templates have, as add-on, an e-commerce solution.
Just contact us
to find out more.
If you need only to present your products, without on-line
shopping, then, the answer is NO; you do not need a database for
your small number of products. Our templates are designed for up
to 6 products, grouped in up to 2 categories and 3 subcategories.
This gives you the following advantages: you are not dependent
on the database offered in the WEB Hosting Package and can
purchase any WEB Hosting Package. So, your monthly fee for WEB
Hosting can have a very attractive price. More than this, you
can use free WEB Hosting.
11. Are your templates Dreamweaver compatible?
FCA Software templates are done mainly in HTML; so, they
are compatible with all major HTML Editors like Adobe
GoLive, Macromedia Dreamweaver and Microsoft Frontpage.
12. What software do you recommend for editing or
modifying HTML files?
We think that Macromedia Dreamweaver is the most suited
one.
13. Are all the links in the website template functional
or I have to create the files and link them?
All our website templates are fully functional - all the
HTML files are already linked.
14. Is there any return policy?
FCA Software is offering digital products. Due to the
nature of such products, we can not issue refunds after
the product is downloaded. You are responsible for
understanding upon purchasing any product from our site.

15. Are your templates SEO optimized?
Search Engine Optimization (SEO)
consists in a series of techniques to increase the
position of a site in the list of search engines like
Google, Yahoo, MSN and others. To aquire a higher position
in such lists, two elements are vital: the content of your
site and the necessary HTML code. All our templates come
with HTML code for SEO (META tags), but you have to fill
out these META tags with keywords and description. If you
are not too familiar with this field, we can support you
with our special software, in order to achieve a good
position in search engines lists. For details, please

16. Do you offer SEO optimization service?
Yes. FCA Software works with profesional SEO optimization
software. First, we make a complete analyse of your
website and then give you the report of our analyse. Based
on this report and on your needs, we establish an
optimization plan for your website and take the requested
steps in order to achieve your goals.
17. Is the Newsletter functional?
No. The Newsletter is only designed. The functionality is
an add-on.
18. Do you offer ASP.NET and AJAX templates?
Yes. For the moment we make templates in ASP.NET and AJAX
only by request. Please
contact us.
19. How can I load my website files on the server?
This section contains general instructions for uploading
your pages to a web server. For more details, please
consult your User Guide. It is up to you which hosting
company and domain name you choose, because it
depends on the specifics of your website. In the
followings, we have supposed that you have choosen
a domain name called "Mydomain" and you have bought a Web
Hosting package. This means that, the hosting company has
sent you a login/password combination in order to be able
to access your domain. Open the browser and type
ftp://Mydomain in the address line. From the
Internet Explorer menus, choose
File ---> Enter to display the authentication
dialog. Enter login and password supplied to you by the
hosting company and click "OK". Now you are logged to the
FTP server of your domain. Copy your web pages and folders
to your domain root directory as you would do with
any other files and folders on your local computer.
Remember, all .html files should be placed in the root
folder of your domain and all images should be placed
in the "images" folder. In another words, you should keep
the folder structure just as it was originally given to
you in the .zip file. Now you can view your new
website online. Many HTML editors have the ability to
upload files from within the editor itself. You may also
choose to use a FTP utility software, such as WS_FTP or
FileZilla. In this case, just follow the instructions of
your HTML editor or FTP utility software. Note:
Image files need to be uploaded in binary mode.
CSS and HTML files are uploaded in ANSCII (text) mode. If
you are using a HTML editor such as Dreamweaver or
FrontPage, the HTML editor automatically detects the
upload mode.
20. I published my website template, but the images
are missing. How do I solve the problem?
You have to upload all the HTML files and also
all the image files from the "images" folder on
the server. Please unzip your template .zip file. Put
all the files from your template "web" folder to "www",
"root" or "public_html" folder on your server. Put all the
files from your template "images" folder to "images"
folder on your server. Note that you must keep the
folder structure from your template: images should be
stored in the "images" folder and so on. Check with your
User Guide.
21. Can you submit my website to the major search
engines for me?
Yes, we also provide this service. By using our SEO
software, we can submit your site to more than 60 major
search engines and directories. We strongly recommend the
search engine submission to be done after your
website is SEO optimized.
